The French Broad - Frank Bells to Hot Springs Campground

When I arrived at the Hot Springs
Campground, James was already setup and ready to go fishing. We put in at
the far end of the campground, just above the first ledge, and paddled upstream
to Frank Bell's. I carried my boat up the island and ran the sneak
route, surfed a little on the river left side, and practiced my rolls. But
mostly I just enjoyed the beautiful weather and took in the scenery. James
caught a small mouth bass with his first cast into the bottom of Frank Bell's.
The wind was up and made paddling back downstream harder than it was to paddle
up.
