This year it was just the Heaths and the Fortins camping at Deep Creek. It was our 7th trip to Deep Creek with Joe, Libby and Disa. I was able to paddle the Upper Nantahala with John and Will on Friday afternoon after we setup camp. We were on site 39 this year, which we liked because of the additional privacy provided by being on the edge of camp. The Upper was a blast as always, we made two laps. On Saturday both families hit the Tuck. Joe, Ben and I in hard boats, Libby, Disa, Amy and Jackson in Duckies, rented again this year from Tuckasegee Outfitters. That evening we all went into town for dinner. The food was good at Anthony's, but the service was super slow. I was much happier with the custom ice creams we got at Soda Pops. At camp we made roasted banana boats twice, fed the goats, mined for gems and played games like Uno. Sunday was spent tubing Deep Creek. Both families made the full run, then Jackson and I went back up for a half run starting at the top.
